Spring 2009
Winter has really hit with wonderful rains in our part of the world. It is a great encouragement for a promising season, but we still require good follow up rains in spring.
Back In Stock

At last the wait is over, Australian Biodynamic Medium Grain Brown Rice is back. This of course means all rice lines are now available - Brown Rice Flour, Brown Rice Flakes, Mixed Flakes and Baby Porridge.

Popping Corn
is also available again.
New Products

Linseed Flakes
The oil is retained in the Linseed Flakes, so not only are the flakes a delicious nutty flavour, they are more digestible than eating the grain whole and yet still contain all the Omega 3 fatty acids. They may be added to cake or muffin mixes, sprinkled on your porridge or breakfast cereals.

Steel Cut Oats
At last, after alot of demand, Steel Cut Oats are available. This is used for making the genuine Irish or Scottish oat cakes or for people who just want a chewier porridge. We now have a wide range of oat products.
For a creamy porridge the Rolled Oats Original Sytle is still the most popular, then we have the Stablisied Rolled Oats, Tender Rolled Oats, Oat Meal, Oat Flour, Oat Bran and of course the Baby Oats with Barley.

Gluten Free Muesli
Containing Rice Flakes, Millet Flakes, Linseed Flakes, Sultanas and Dried Apricots.

Gluten Free Porridge
Containing Rice Flakes, Millet Flakes, Linseed Flakes and Sultanas.

While every effort is used to ensure there is no contamination with gluten and we randomly subject the products to testing, we alert our customers that all our processing occurs in the one facility.
Out of Stock

There is still a wait for White Chick Peas. Hopefully this year the season will be alot kinder to the farmers who grow these as they suffered a complete crop loss last season.
Gluten In Oats

At present there seems to be alot of conjecture that a certain type of rolled oats do not contain gluten. This is quite false, unfortunately we have no control over information coming from USA. Oats are a cereal grain like wheat, rye and barley and they all contain gluten, but at varying rates. Some people with celiac disease are able to tolerate oats, but it is recommended strict medical testing on your body occurs prior to consumption. If further information is required, we suggest you contact the Celiac Society on (02) 9487 5088.
Out and About

In July Gavin, Rosemary, Phillip & Kathy attended the Organic Expo in Melbourne. This was a huge success with excellent crowds. We were lucky enough to share a stand with Melrose Health Supplies, one of our Victorian distributors. Thanks to everyone who came up to say 'hi' and give us such positive feedback - hopefully we will see you again next year, this time in Sydney.
It is always great to catch up with distributors and retail shops that carry our products. The work these people put into promoting our products is really appreciated.
Warmest Regards,
The Four Leaf Milling Team
